How to read this historical map

This is a selected military gazetteer, not a complete inventory of every operation. Month filters apply only to records with an assigned month. Seasonal, disputed and year-spanning accounts stay in a separately labelled annual layer. Dates before the Julian reform follow the Roman civil calendar and are not silently converted to the modern Gregorian calendar.

Land, markers and links share one equirectangular projection (standard parallel 40° N). The base shows modern, generalised coastlines at 1:50 million; it does not reconstruct ancient harbours, deltas or provincial boundaries.
